Viruses and Vulnerabilities

by

What is a virus?

A virus is a germ or infectious micro-organism that has an innovative way of re-creating itself. When we are infected by a virus, the cells of our bodies are forced to rapidly produce thousands of copies of the original virus. Not for our own health and wellbeing, but for the survival and reproduction of the virus.

The connection between viruses and our vulnerabilities

In her book, The Secret Language of your Body, Inna Segal shares that one of the primary energetic blocks around viruses includes feeling vulnerable. So, when we feel vulnerable, we are more susceptible to viruses.

What can COVID-19 and its variants teach us?

After nearly two years since we first learned about COVID-19, two other variants have also made their impact upon the world – Delta and now, more recently, Omicron.

I believe that COVID-19 and its variants are drawing our attention to our core values and the people, beings and things that we deeply care about.

This means that our core values and those we love are our vulnerabilities. We fear to lose them and we are motivated to protect them at all costs.

Vulnerabilities aren’t just our weaknesses. When we are raw and real about our what is important to us, we become stronger and more authentic. And when we express that outwardly, we give others permission to do the same.

Today’s Affirmation

Here is a great affirmation to help us to embrace our vulnerabilities. And as we do, our immune systems become stronger and we are living in alignment with our own personal truth.

In the here and now, I am worthy of love and belonging
and I see my vulnerabilities as my greatest strength
