And now we are going to come back to Centre. This will help us to ground back into ourselves.
Through the four main directions, we’ve touched on four of the five elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The fifth element – the Earth element – completes the picture by capturing the energy of the Centre or Middle.
Our body’s Earth element organs are our spleen, stomach and nervous system. We are grounded when tehse organs are stabilised and balanced. These organs are our spleen, stomach and central nervous system. This allows us to come back to centre – to our central core – back to ourselves.
It is essential for our Earth element organs to be grounded. This enables us to become reconnected with Earth. Doing this allows us to be present in our bodies, in the here and now. It is not a coincidence that our nervous systems gather information from the world around us to process and help us make decisions in our lives.
We all benefit from working with the supportive energies of North, South, East, and West. But we also need to be connected to our Centre/Middle energies in order to be healthy and grounded.
Now, more than ever, we are globally connected. Globally, we have all been affected by the coronavirus. Together we have experienced two years of pandemic-related restrictions. We have also lived through have been floods, fires, and earthquakes. And now Ukraine is under attack from Russia. Many of us feel the pain of those suffering across the globe, even when we don’t personally know each other.

Trauma and stress can leave you feeling unsafe so you don’t want to be in your body. If this is your experience, I may be able to help you.
If you would like to talk to me about your situation, send me a message and we can arrange a 20-minute Get-To-Know-You call. During that time, I can share how I can help you to energetically heal from that trauma or stress.
More about the cardinal directions
This article is part of a 5-part series that draws from ancient wisdom. It shares the symbolism and archetypical energy of the four cardinal directions (North, South, East, West) and Centre. These energies are a set of archetypes that are powerfully symbolic.
