In the 1960’s, Alfred Tomatis (ENT specialist, scientist and innovator) worked with opera singers and factory workers. He discovered that we are only able to make the sounds that we can hear.
His discovery validates what has been known for centuries by those who understand the chakra system in the human body. Like all of the chakras, the throat chakra expresses itself through both a yin and a yang aspect. We tend to focus just on the outward or yang expression of the throat chakra (speaking our truth) and we often overlook the yin aspect, which involves receiving intuitive guidance (hearing our truth).
So what we hear influences what we are able to express.
